Antique Toy Chest Restore

So Heather, my mom and I all went antiquing in downtown St. Pete a couple of months ago. I actually went to find a toy chest and was successful! This picture doesn't really do it justice. Because this is after I sanded it down--a lot! There were these weird circle shaped dents all across the top, it was chipped and smelled gross, etc. We talked the guy down from $80 to $60. This a really big antique toy chest made of cedar, which is a great wood because it holds up well to moisture (aka Florida humidity).

Just painting it a really light cream color helped immensely!

I prepped it for some details with painter tape.

I used a gold paint pen for the grooved design on the front face.

The painters tape leaked out pretty bad so I used my exacto blade to clean it up. Probably 90 minutes worth of scraping.

I have since purchased a dampener so Bayer's fingers dont get crushed that was $25. All my supplies were free because I already had left over cream and tan paint, except the gold paint pen was $2. Total investment:

I'm pretty proud of it! It took a lot of sweat and elbow grease but its super rewarding knowing I restored it. I can always use this piece, for my little girls room when we have one, or at the foot of our bed when our kids are grown.

Bayer's 1st Birthday!!

Bayer is one! He turned one on June 24th but we didn't have all of our families in town until later on in July! So we celebrated his birthday one month later! ha ha! I can guarantee Bayer didn't notice. I was a Girls Camp on Bayer's real birthday as well. Okay these pictures are in reverse order, blogger is annoying.

Bay Bay's birthday was ball themed! The invitation read "Come have a Ball" and we did! One of his 4 words he says is "ball" followed by "oooooo oo oooo oooooo" in excitement. I tried to make everything we ate in the shape of a ball, except for the dogs and burgers of course...I wouldn't mess with a classic.

I designed Bayer's invites with a ball theme in mind, using blue, orange, and red as the colors. Pardon the really quick edit, this blog isn't private, gotta get rid of the address...

Harry Potter party

These are some of the party favors my sister Hebs and I made for the party. We printed out "H" Hogwarts images on sticker paper, cut them out with exacto knives and stuck them on the glasses, then we bought etching cream!

We also gave out some pins we purchased on etsy as party favors.

I've got to give my sister Heather all the credit on these hand made wands! That's right...handmade! Does it get more legit? Not really.

Anyways, we bought wooden dowels from a craft store, ordered mug pegs (the handle part) from a website, and bought some copper fittings from a hardware store. Threw on wood stain, and some puffy paint. She made each one different and unique. She used an "Amazingo" spell on these! Yes I am THAT cheesy.

These are two pretty old, but i like them.

Bayer loves to push everything. He had a freak out in the mall, if we didn't let him push the stroller throughout the entire dillards store.

It is so funny to look at the random pictures Elle, my 3 year old niece takes with my phone, these two were rather impressive though. (she only took these first two, the rest of the pics were me obviously)

This is about 3 days before we put Belle down. I had a major breakdown this day because I knew the end was near. Bayer decided to take her on his first and only walk with Belle.Texas Roadhouse with mom and hebs.

Girls camp was hot this year..surprise surprise. I was over the 3rd levels with Jenny Williams and we had a lot of fun. The theme was Dr. Seuss, our level were the Sneetches.

We went over to Hebs after my mom, Heb, and I went antiquing. It was so much fun. Afterwards we stuck Bay in the swing.

Our little guy is getting so big. Bayer is still in love with balls and anything with a wheel. He loves to push carts, strollers, balls around wherever possible. He's started to play with his cousin Grayson, aka follows him all over the house, and makes loud noises when he does. And vice versa. IT'S AWESOME!

He can give high fives and loves to clap his hands, he also is very good at fake laughing, he'll make you feel funny--something I appreciate now and then. He's very opinionated and is not shy about showing it. He is a psycho at church, Brandon doesn't even try to go to Sunday school anymore, he just helps out in Nursery, while I'm teaching my Primary class (4/5/6 year olds).

He is becoming a better eater, not that great, but better. Loves hot dogs, graham crackers, raisins, donuts (boy after his own mother's heart), broccoli and that's about it. Sometimes he'll eat yogurt or mac n cheese.

He loves to be outside, he'd sweat himself to death if I'd let him.

I have been substituting for my moms tennis league once sometimes twice a week lately and it's been sooooo awesome! These 40-76 year old ladies are extremely impressive. I love tennis and I can't wait to join my own league someday. Today I was stung by a wasp though and my thumb is gigantic!

Bayer at 10+ months

-Starting to walk on his own! Just yesterday he left the couch and went for the TV console!
-He loves to be hold my hand and walk around
-We have been swimming everyday for the last 2 weeks--because he's a little fish!
-He loves baths!
-He babbles all the time!
-About 2 weeks ago he started mimicking the words, "Ut-oh!" I'm counting that as his first conscience word.
-He is obsessed with the caps on toilets, the part that covers the screws to take it off--Yuck! I bleach it all the time!!
-He's not a very good eater, he likes bottles a lot (I weaned him at 9.5 months)
-He has the BEST gap in between his two first teeth, it's going to be hilarious as he ages
-He loves balls, he chases them for ten minutes at a time
-He hates being left alone or if you leave his sight
-He love love loves his daddy
-He loves it when you bounce balls, he literally giggles
-He LOVES to be read to, his favorite books are, Jungle Jeep and Where is Baby's Belly Button?

-He still likes to be held A LOT

-He is very sensitive to loud noises and kids crying or yelling--such an only child

La Traviata

Brandon surprised me with Opera tickets to see Guiseppe Verdi's La Traviata, it was our first opera and we really enjoyed it. It was really nice to go out on a real date and spend some time together. We went out to eat at Flemmings before the show and had some pricey but oh so worth it steak (Brandon) and veal (me) and this "you can die now" chocolate lava cake. It was really needed, he was just about finished with finals after the hardest semester of his life.

Sometimes you just gotta spoil yourself. When you spoil yourself, you should go all out. Right? Well that's what I keep telling my guilty conscience.

Bayer is a trooper, he's starting to stand up on everything and walk around the edges of furniture. He finds the weirdest stuff to play with and the dirtiest places to go--like every trash can we own!? He's a total mama's boy. He's starting to get separation anxiety--whoopee! It's sorta cute......sometimes.

He's still an awesome sleeper. He's kind of a picky eater, which is a new development. He will only eat if he feeds himself, which is hard for an OCD dad. I love how we put towels underneath Bayer's high chair every meal. Brandon's made me weird now too.

Bayer has his 8th tooth coming out right now. Its getting to the point where you see his teeth when he smiles and i absolutely loveeee it. Gosh, I don't want him to get any bigger. His cheeks are so soft, fat, and cold=smoochable.

Well, this is a rambling post. Night.

Bayer: 8 months old

Our little Bay Bay is getting so big! He's our comfort, fun, and joy. I am so grateful & blessed with such a fun and handsome little boy. Bayer started crawling on the 22nd of February, he also got 5 more teeth in this past week--poor little guy. Bayer has a total of 7 teeth! He loves his teething ring, he holds it for about 6 hours at a time. He likes to find objects and hold them the majority of the day.

He has been sleep trained for the nighttime routine, but we're still working on nap time. He loves his daddy because he is the one who rough houses with him. He sits at dinner with Brandon and I in his high chair and has started to put food into his mouth on his own! YAY!

Bayer tries to stand up on objects and he thinks he's pretty cool while doing so. He loves wheels, meaning his mom loves wheels too. He loves blueberries, strawberries, bread, graham crackers, and oranges. He loves easy mac too.

One of my favorite things about Bayer is to watch his face when we walk outside. The florida sun is bright and he loves it! He get this square face smile.

I love to look at all his pictures and see how much he's changed. It reminds me of how much we've grown as parents and how much our lives have changed. We are so in love with my little guy it hurts!! (gritting teeth)

Gasparilla 5k!

Gasparilla was SOO much fun! I'm really proud of Jenny and I. We both had kids less than a year ago! We ran underneath 3o minutes which was our goal. I pushed Jenny the first half and the second half I tried to keep up with her! We're going to try and run one race a month until our next pregnancies, any readers feel free to join us on our next one. There were 15,000 people who entered into the 5k alone! So we were dodging and twisting through people like snakes for the entire race. Next time I would prefer a smaller race for sure.

I am going to run a 5k (3.1 miles) underneath 23:00 minutes by February 2011!

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas! Where to begin...

This Christmas break has been a blast having family near, I've been able to go on a couple of runs, getting my buns back into shape! We've played tennis with Brandon's little brothers a lot and it's been A BLAST! (Shout out to Jordan, we make the best team ever.)

We were able to go see Santa this year because we have a little one! We were able to go see Santa with my parents and the Kennedy's and have some yummy lunch at CPK afterwards.

This year we joined forces on Christmas eve, my in-laws and my brother in-laws came over and participated in our reenactment of the Nativity with smiles and all. Which is hard for a 23, 18, and 16 yr old. Heather's in-laws came over as well and my little brother was home for Christmas. Bayer was baby Jesus for the first time, he was a rockstar performer. Brandon couldn't get work off and couldn't get home till 10:30...:( It was the saddest part of my Christmas Eve.

Brandon has been studying his booty off for exams for grad school, working his tail off without complaint. I can't say how much I appreciate all he does for our little family. He's the hardest working man, right next to my dad. Somehow he finds time to hang out with Bayer and I, and make the most of his time.

I'll end with the fact that I had to speak about Christmas traditions in my ward for the Christmas program. I am so glad our new Bishop asked me to speak about Christmas traditions that bring me closer to Christ. What a great topic. I had the chance to reminisce about my childhood, family, and what Christmas really meant to me, throwing me into the true Christmas spirit. I spoke about Christmas' at my Gpa & Gma Dickson's home when we lived in Washington, which is hard because I feel like I should be there right now because they're not doing so well. Another tradition I mentioned was Christmas music, gave John Denver shout out, admitted my secret love of the "Christmas Shoes" song---sappppppy. Thirdly, my mom's ability to make our home so amazing growing up, decking the halls at our home around Christmas time. Lastly, reacting the Nativity at home and watching our Stakes performance of the Nativity.

Bayer cleaned up as far as gifts go this year. The McClain's were A LITTLE excited to have grandchild! Bayer has every toy that makes a noise or lights up at your local Target sitting in his little nursery. I can't wait for next year when he understands Christmas a bit more. BAYER GOT HIS TWO BOTTOM TEETH FOR CHRISTMAS!

Turkey Bowl!!

Thanksgiving was super awesome this year for one reason....I WASN'T PREGNANT! I could eat, cook, stand, and play in our ward's annual Turkey Bowl this year! So Brandon's brothers have played the last couple of years, lets just say the McClains dominated!!!!! Check out Brandon's face......

...best catch ever. I mean it, I've never seen a winning touchdown catch that amazing.

My mom was visiting my brother Dan and his family this year, so I decided I was going to take on Thanksgiving with LOTS of help from my mil and husband of course. I was super stressed and exhausted by the time we sat down to eat, so i forgot to take pics! Argh! The food was surprisingly pretty darn good. I did overcook the turkey a tad, but there's only room to improve, right? We made a lot of sauces, turkey glaze, ham glaze, and turkey gravy, and homemade cranberry sauce (thanks to Lisa). I didn't make it exactly like my moms version, because i want to have my own spin on Thanksgiving.

We have so much to be thankful for this year. Brandon and I are so indebted to our Heavenly Father for sending us such a sweet little boy. Bayer makes us so happy, children literally are miracles!

Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Words cannot describe my satisfaction last week as I entered Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I have been trying to go since the day it opened. However, my due date being 2 days after the grand opening I couldn't make it over there till last Friday! My wait was well worth it! The park is very cute, well done, and REALLY crowded. I would suggest doing the package deal where you stay at one of there hotels and get into the park an hour before everyone else, or go on a Tuesday/Wednesday (those are they're slow days they said).

The butterbeer was my favorite part of the whole day (of course it's food). They made it really tasty, especially the frozen version! Sitting in the Three Broomsticks/Hogshead with a Butterbeer mustache on my lips holding my little Bay Bay was such a FUN moment. To see a world in real life and taste it when you've been imagining it for the last 10 years was pretty darn satisfying.

Brandon and I were born 10 days apart, so we celebrate our birthday together. It's really nice actually because my birthday feels more important. ha ha! Just kidding...well, sort of. My mom made this AMAZING meal for us last Sunday. She also made Brandon's request for a homemade fresh berry lattice pie and my permanent request for plum couken (cheesecake)! It was a lot of fun! Life has been awesome lately...I've started Bayer on real foods. Yes, he's not quite 4 months yet (don't judge me) but this child is HUGE! How am I supposed to sustain this bulldozer myself! Brandon and I actually have a "date night" once a week now because Bayer's grandma Annette is so close and willing! Yay! So it's been a nice break and Brandon and I look forward to spending time with each other each week. The first date night we went out to eat and shopped around. The second we played tennis, I won't brag about the results (**stretch**killed him**yawn**sigh**).

Things about Bayer at almost 4 months...

He's still an awesome sleeper at night

He smiles if you smile at him

He seems very mature for his age...sounds weird but true

He likes to sit in his bumbo while i do my make up

He loves to have the most crazy blow outs at...church ONLY

He hums when he eats (I used to do that too)

He is frantic with his fingers in his mouth

He's started grabbing for toys

Let me preface by saying this was a while ago when I started this post...but it's taken some research and what not...

Brandon and I have recently discovered the netflix instant streaming disc for playstation 3. Basically you can watch a bunch of movies and tv shows instantly (usually movies that are little bit older, but pretty new tv shows). Anyways, this has been a life saver for me because lets be honest I'm not going a lot places with an 8-week old and TV has been a friend. So Brandon and I have watched the entire 5 seasons of the office over the past month I'd say. Hilarious. To watch them back to back gives the show the justice it deserves. Car Accident

Holy annoying. Two Sundays ago I got into a car accident in our apt complex. I was fine, the baby wasn't with me thank goodness. Anyways, this guy was driving in the middle of the road and wasn't paying attention. I however had stopped and had time to honk at him! Needless to say this is what happened...

So I called the cops, blah blah blah. Turns out he can't write a citation (normally this is how you assume fault for insurance purposes), because the complex is private property. Thank goodness the cop could clearly see that I was driving on the correct side of the street and wrote up a nice police report, which we had to order later in the week to prove my innocence. Check out this sweet diagram he drew.

I filed a claim with the other guys insurance and let me tell you this guy was definitely in good hands. They fought and fought Brandon and I over the course of 11 days! Telling us to just put a claim in with our insurance-meaning, accept fault and have to pay our $500 deductible--I don't think so. So Brandon hounded the insurance representative who was handling our case like nobody's business. I think it was the "I will call you everyday until this is resolved" and the "if liability isn't accepted by your company by tomorrow I will be contacting your superior." Needless to say the next day they decided to cover 100% of the damages! YAY!

We did learn a lesson that I want to share. Always have renters insurance because being carless until they accepted liability wasn't any fun. Also, don't move your car if you don't have to after an accident. Lastly, take video of the scene.

Brandon and I have been dieting! We've also started P90x. I highly recommend it, it's sooo hard! It works your flabby booty (talking about mine in particular)(that sounded gross) out! So I've been looking up all these healthy recipes..I made this greek yogurt apple parfait! It was really good. Check out http://www.epicurious.com/ there are a lot of really good recipes here.

Can I vent about Tony Horton for a minute?! This man is re-dunk-u-lous. He is not human, there's no way. He must work out 3 p90x workouts a day. I feel fat when Tony stares into the camera. I worked out in my bra and some work out crop pants but after the second day I just had to start wearing a shirt. My stomach rolls were getting chilly....from Tony's ice cold eyes and disappointment. I feel embarassed half of the time, if Tony could only see my version of "form."
I've never been much of a dancer and you couldn't call me graceful in the least bit. Athletic? Yes. Coordinated? Probably. Strong? MAYBE BEFORE I PUSHED OUT A 10 POUND BABY! All I can say is I look pretty pathetic while doing p90x and its hilarious when I look back in the mirror opposite of my TV. Tony has me jumping and twirling and literally running around in circles (in Pylometrics), while I stomp, stumble, and fumble my way around the living room.

Regardless,Tony's perfect body and all his corny little perfect friends' bodies make me inspired to loose some poundage. Which is why I bought the dang set of DVD's right?! Bring it!

My parents and my family and my sister Heather and her kids (Grayson and Elle) all went to the Honeymoon Island yesterday! It was my first time to the beach in over a year!!! It was gorgeous! I loved every minute of it! I've been trapped inside for the past year, being pregnant/having a newborn. I was telling Brandon a couple of weeks ago, I'm finally starting to feel like "me" again. I've been running a couple of times a week for the past couple of weeks (thanks to my mom and Brandon for babysitting). I have energy! I don't gasp for air at the top of our stairs to the apartment AS MUCH anymore - lol! Life is just great lately and I'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father.

Little Bay Bay is getting so old already. He went to his 2 month appointment and he's still a big kid. Bayer is still an awesome sleeper and an even better eater. We sleep in till about 9 every morning and it's so much fun. I'm sad because he's so smiley when he wakes up in the morning and Brandon is already at class usually. He's starting to space out his feedings a little more which is really nice for moi. We can go more places with confidence knowing he won't get upset for lack of food (constantly). He's shooting out of all of his clothes which is fun/exhausting to keep up with.

He had his shots two days ago and was a champ for the most part. He didn't cry at all on the first pinch, the second he cried for a couple seconds. He wasn't really fussy, he just slept a lot! It freaked me out but he's alive i guess.

Bayer now recognizes faces and has "coo-ing" conversations with you. He's a doll and we love him so stinkin' much it's almost criminal!

We just got back from Portland, Oregon last night. We were there from Sunday to Sunday and it was such a blast. I can't describe how fun it was to see all my brothers and sisters (in laws included) and their children! They were 16 grandchildren and 13 adults!

We stayed at my sister in laws parents house at Black Butte Ranch which is located in central Oregon. The drive up there was beautiful, it looked like a post card. At the ranch, we rode bikes, swam, walked, played tennis, baseball, hiked, cooked, laughed, played games, golfed, had photo shoots, etc. It was really nice to kick back for a whole week, especially for me, I was able to go play tennis twice this past week! Once without Bayer, although the baby and I missed each other! I also got to go on a bike ride without the babe. I'm proud of myself.

We stayed in two different cabins, which were both really nice. It was so nice and generous of my parents to get us all together and plan this beautiful vacation.

I love this little tyke so much. I didn't think I could be happier when I married Brandon, but Bayer makes "my heart want to explode" (-Ali from Bachelorette) everyday!

Bayer is such a joy to be around. Some things about him I want to remember are:

-He scrunches his forehead a lot, very inquisitive.

-He doesn't like to wake up, he makes the cutest pouty face

-He's an excellent nurser no matter the time of the day

-He HATES being cold

Bayer keeps his mama busy most of the day...mainly eating! this child is getting P-I-G (or B-I-G)!

Funny story, today Bayer and I were out shopping with our moms, Bayer had a blow out and his mom only had three wipes with her (dumb mistake). So I ran back to the car, started the process, needless to say Bayer was madder than a hornet at me because I wasn't feeding him and decided to shove his heels, legs, and toes into his "mess" and fling his stickiness and stinkiness all over the car, me, everywhere! Meanwhile, I frantically tried to find another wipe in some form! I ended up using an extra outfit out of my diaper bag and poured some water on it asap, then spilled the remaining water all over myself. lol. It was pretty hilarious for my mom when she came out of the store.

Anyways, I know from the st0ry I seem like I'm a nervous, going crazy first time mom, but I'm actually the opposite. Bayer is such an easy baby (most of the time) and I'm super lucky. I manage to get out of the house almost everyday and I've adjusted to being a mom quite nicely thanks to many, like my amazing husband. My mom is another huge help as well.

Bayer had his one month check up today:

He's such an easy baby. I mean it. I know how infants can be, I have 15 nieces and nephews. I think Heavenly Father gave me a really easy baby as a reward for having such a hard time with pregnancy (7 months of vomiting) and being huge. He's making up for it though...gosh Brandon and I love him.

Bayer is my life. I love love love love him. I am constantly thinking of that famous quote that goes something like "I never said it would be easy, I only said it'd be worth it." Those are my feelings wholeheartedly.

My birth story is the same old same old until I hit 6 cm. I got induced on Wednesday at 5 pm, with cervidil which ripens your cervix. I didn't start pitocin until 7 am. By 8:30 am i was at 4 cm. I stayed at 4 cm until 2 pm. Then they upped my pitocin, I started to "feel my legs" meaning I could move them, which is not what you want! I had the anesthesiologist come and fix my dosage because i was feeling all the contractions and my pain went away for about an hour and half, so we're at 3:30 now. I was dialated to a 7 at 3:30, had the anesthesiologist come in again and up my epidural but it was too late, my body never got numb again and I basically went through transition (7 cm-10 cm) on my own, with the edge knocked off probably. Needless to say, I pushed for 40 minutes, like a warrior on a mission, everyone was really impressed I could push so successfully, considering he was 9 lbs 6 oz with a 15 INCH HEAD IN DIAMETER!

All things considered, WE MADE IT! Believe it or not my episiotomy wasn't that bad at all and I'm doing pretty great. Moral of the story, when you get an epidural, make sure your legs are like dead weights. They like to give you as little as possible, which is understandable in their shoes, but not in yours and that's what counts in the moment. (Nicole Wilder I'm thinking of you) lol.

I am soooo happy to be a mom, it is the purpose of life. I feel like my life is so much more important than it was before. It's like going from being single to being married, MUCH MUCH BETTER, then you have a child and your entire existence is MUCH MUCH BETTER AND AWESOME AND FUN AND PERFECT. yay. night.

I'd like to show you the room from start to finish!!

So his room is like 90 % complete. I haven't bought a glider yet and i'd like to get a cream or tan rug, some of the stuff that needs to be sewn isn't done yet either.

Diamonds are soooo hard to paint, thank you Brandon, he spent like 4 hours doing the math and taping.

I ran out of paint so I actually just mixed the second diamond color by hand from the samples I had purchased, I was pretty proud of myself with the color palette finish.

This dresser was going to be the death of me this summer. Brandon and I found this at Salvation army for $140, I talked them down to $110, it's really well made and we couldn't pass it up. So after HOURS AND HOURS of grueling sanding, and HOURS AND HOURS of grueling staining, and polyurethane-ing with some new knobs we turned this dresser into quite an impressive piece. Not to brag, but sort of.

I loved this vintage photograph and got it printed and framed it. Etsy shop, tickledchic, she made these custom for me. love her.

My mom has sewn the curtains, the crib skirt, and his going to sew the bumper, some pillows, and a quilt. She rocks!

These trophies are actually Brandon's and a couple are Brandon's brothers, spray painted bronze. They're from his pee-wee days, it's a special touch. Also, if you have read my blog for a while you'll remember my nursery inspiration post, I wanted this helmet really bad......couldn't pass it up....if you look back at that post, you'll see i got almost everything I wanted off of it. Put your mind to it and you can have anything you want!

My mom knew I'd be eyeing this artwork, which turned out to be customizable. It was an awesome splurge I wouldn't have spent the money on so I really appreciate her going all out for me.

THERE IS AN END IN SIGHT! I'm getting induced on Wednesday at 5 pm! I'm not even nervous, I'm just flat out excited and anxious! I cannot wait to hold my baby boy!

Brandon is watching a DVD we got from our birthing class right now. It's one of those free DVD's, meant for retards, or in this case, a really really eager and excited dad. He is the cutest dad already. It's the most boring video ever, it's talking about installing car seats correctly for like a solid 15 minutes. It's so funny and cute at the same time. This is why I love him. He is so freakin excited, he's always looking for coupons and deals for our baby. Today we got our car seat and he spent like 20 minutes attaching it and taking it apart.

Also, I've had a psycho week. So at my OB, they just added a new midwife, so I met her on Tuesday. She's doing a quick ultrasound to see how big he is and tells me, "Well, I'm not positive but I think we have a breach baby here." She continued to tell me the procedures for c-sections and all the scary mumbo jumbo entailed. Needless to say, I went crazy, I had a major freak out. Brandon didn't come to that appointment with me, let me just say, he regretted his decision.

So we had to go back the next day to see the ultrasound tech to make sure about the position of the baby. Within 5 seconds, she says, "nope, he's head down." I cried tears of joy and frustration because i had been falsely alarmed. I WILL not be having that new midwife in my delivery room because to be quite frank, she panicked me and made me feel awful about the situation when there was no need to worry. drama, drama, drama.

The BEST detail I saved for last, Bayer is measuring a little large already. surprise, surprise, jk! This kid is gonna be a linebacker duh! Our doctor estimated Bayer is already around 7 lbs 4 oz. Folks, I was 36 weeks on Wednesday. Aka, he'll be about 9 and half lbs at my due date! I'm proud of him though--way to go Bayer! My crotch won't have the same sentiment probably.

-I am getting real swollen

-I have no energy

-I sleep 10 hours a day

-Brandon wants to call me "lazy" i can see it on his face, but instead he just gives me a smile.

-I miss shopping for clothes more and more everyday, p.s. i will be dropping a wad once i get down to my pre-prego weight

-Bayer's nursery is coming along at a snail's pace but it will be finished before he arrives

-I see my pregnancy in 4 sections, the first 2 quaters STUNK, the third was great, the fourth can be described in one word "hot."

-i bought the sims 3 and plan on playing it non-stop until June 23rd, this is my last month of freedom, lets not deny it.

I'm way behind on blogging...stupid school is ruining it!

We've been in our new 2 bedroom for a couple of weeks now, had it painted for a while. I just take forever to post pics.

This is a painting Bran and I bought in Rome, this woman had oil on a knife in her hands at the time so I knew it was real. It's a significant piece of art for us, this is the view we woke up to every morning when we were there. Our hotel room had a balcony that overlooked the Pantheon. We got it framed for a lot of $$$ but it's totally worth it. i love it.

This is Bayer's room, it's really big, too big. He's just a baby? He has his own bathroom and walk-in closet. "lucky." (name that movie)

i had a pleasure of seeing mare bear this last weekend and it was so fun! So i flew out to San Fran on Thursday morning, had a layover in Denver. While waiting to board for my connecting flight, I suddenly felt like I needed to wipe my nose cause it was running really bad. So luckily I had stored a big ole pile of kleenex (because I've sorta had a cold lately) out of my purse, to my lovely surprise I did NOT have a runny nose.

I had a GIGANTIC nose bleed that went on for 20 minutes!!!!!! LITERALLY! It wouldn't stop. I cocked my head back, I pinched my nose, I know the tricks, my sister Anne used to get them a lot. So I called my mom all panicked and asked her if I somehow hurt my baby by flying or if this was normal. She reassured me and told me it's really common to get nose bleeds when your pregnant, but that they were really hard to stop because prego ladies have 20% more blood in their bodies....yum! Yum was sarcastic btw. I freakin swallowed blood for 20 minutes, thank goodness I didn't ralph in the plane. sick. this was traumatic and really embarrassing, sorry i had to share. i'm just warning all the other prego's out there, cuz there's a lot of us.

Lately I've been coming back to life and it feels great! Why am I so proud of myself? Well, ladies and gents--here's my list!

-I cooked dinner two nights in a row! (steak both times :))

-I did my homework the DAY BEFORE it was due, not the hour before class!

-I went to church all three hours this past Sunday

-I've been editing on our wedding flowers business website (check it out... www.seasonalsavvy.com and make comments on the blog please)

-I made an effort for Valentines day

-I'm not so bitter when I see non-pregnant people exercising, which is hard when you live next to the Suncoast trail...

-I'm seeing my best friend this weekend

-Brandon and I are moving into a two bedroom apartment!

-I don't throw up everyday!

-I don't live in fear of throwing up 24-7

-I don't have to change the channel everytime a food commercial comes on, only sometimes

-I feel happier because I'm healthier and that is priceless.

Let me just say how grateful I am...

...When I found out this babe was a boy I left out the detail that the doctors found cysts on his brain and it freaked me out! It was really sad because that day was supposed to be a fun and magical day full of shopping, thinking of names, and starting nursery themes. But I was depressed about the cysts, they told me the cysts are really common and not to freak out, but of course I did. Brandon will attest to it. These cysts, theres a medical name for them but I can't remember, have been linked to down-syndrome, so I was worried. (Not that theres anything wrong with a child that has down-syndrome--I would love my child just as much don't get me wrong.) You just panic when your a mom, that's a lesson I'm learning, I always worry about him...I just love him sooo much and want everything to be perfect for him!

So back to today! Thankfully my two girlfriends came with me to my appointment for support cause I was really nervous--they helped calm me down and brought good luck! The doc said the cysts resolved and he looked perfect! I feel bad cause I went in lacking faith. I had prepared myself for bad news. Shame on me. Brandon gave me a blessing that said he would be healthy and strong and his cysts would dissolve. So yay!

On a brighter, more visual note...here's some inspiration for the boy's room!

Brandon and I bought this vintage football helmet made of leather off ebay and I can't wait for it to get here!!! Also, my mom had this vintage football which she let me have and it sparked my whole theme. I should have started this paragraph with that last sentence, oh well.

I want the walls of the room to be in cream, with an argyle painting technique (matt and glossy), with cherry furniture. So the overall colors (creams, browns, tans, and bronze as the metallic) and feel will hopefully be calm, clean, serene, but masculine with browns.

Tennessee Trip

Brandon and I went on a road trip to Tennesse with the Williams in the middle of December to celebrate being done with the semester! We left Tampa at 8 o'clock at night and didn't stop til 6:30 am! Jenny and I are both pregnant, so lets just say it wasn't a "complaint-free" night!? We had originally planned on getting a hotel somewhere in Georgia, but nooooooo-- the boys thought we could make it!

We went to Gatlinburg and went tubing on the slopes there. We visited Dollywood which was REALLY cute and fun! Although I was really morningsick the whole time, but atleast it was very distracting.

Brandon and I had a photo shoot because at the time I was going to send off Christmas cards, but I didn't. I blame it on the fetus.

Well we wanted to celebrate christmas even if it is officially 88 degrees outside.

All this is my mom's so thank Debbie Dickson for another wonderful christmas at the McClain home.

Brandon had to put up most of the stuff because every time I would get up I would want to ralph. Anyways I have been sporadically feeling good. I would feel really good for a couple hours then bam!!! ...straight to the bowl.
